Dermal Fillers – Revealing a younger you
Dermal fillers are non-surgical cosmetic treatment for face used to bring a more youthful appearance by restoring volume or fullness to the face and lips and also used to treat contour lines, folds and wrinkles.
Simply, dermal fillers are used to restore that lost volume in the face by plumping out lines, wrinkles and folds. The hyaluronic acid filler is injected in the folds after numbing the skin with a local anesthetic cream. Areas that can be treated include the laughter folds, the glabellar (deep frown) lines, smokers lines ( area above the upper lip), marionette lines, to build volume in cheeks, chin, lips ( body of lips, lip line, philtrum , cupids bow) nose, to augment jawline and to correct the hollowness around the eye area.
THERE ARE TWO CLASSES OF DERMAL FILLERS:
PERMANENT AND TEMPORARY
The main permanent dermal filler in use today is silicone. There are a variety of temporary dermal fillers currently in use: Hydroxyapatite (Radiesse), hyaluronic acid (Restylane and Hylaform), sculptra, fat, and collagen. Temporary fillers are absorbed by the body over time, usually in 2-6 months and require repeated treatments to maintain the effect.
